Washroom Revival
In Canada, restrooms are identified as washrooms. Tennis shoes are runners, dollars and cents are toonies and loonies and a vacation is called a holiday. Canada has nothing to do with this post other than I just returned from a magical trip out to beloved British Columbia and decided to title this quick little post Washroom Revival.
This little guest bath did indeed get a revival with a design makeover. This same family, as referenced in Master Makeover, is a divided household with design styles. The Mrs. [she/her] adores a classic, clean, traditional design preference while the Mr. [he/him], leans towards a modern simplistic style. I love this challenge in design as it really pushes me as a designer past Pinterest and headfirst into concept schematics.
By designing with this classic LVP flooring from Floor to Ceiling I was able to compliment the accents of the washroom with more a modern flair to marry the design styles between husband and wife. We opted for a stock vanity that included a countertop and enhanced the overall style of it by replacing the hardware and faucets to match the design concept. In addition, by replacing the former heavy framed mirror with two sleek stylish alternatives we were able to open the space, introduce color and develop a focal point.
That’s a rap . . . washroom revived! I love the way the gray grout really allows the tile to POP! Tip: Scrub less, gray grout is best! Can we also hear it for this really pretty wall color. Castle Gate by Sherwin Williams. The warm blue/gray was the perfect compliment to the honey brass, white and black. File this color for future projects, for sure a fav for 2022.
