Moody Moss Bowls
Moody moss bowls are one of my favorite centerpieces in 2020. Their design lends a contemporary vibe but is yet transitional for many interior spaces. We saw moss accents explode in 2017 from applications on walls to fillers for apothecary jars. Now we are seeing moss trending in the new year with vertical gardens and indoor green areas. The chic simplicity and masculinity of a moss bowl has my vote for my favorite centerpiece in 2020. As a design accent that can blend into any interior style I love to use moss bowls in entryways and conversation settings. I would arrange moss in a dough bowl for a trending casual concept or in a succulent pot for a more modern presentation as you see here.
Indoor greenery always adds a living element to a space that invites relaxation and enjoyment of the senses. While not always possible to use living arrangements due to light and climate control, it is possible to enjoy preserved greenery as an alternative option. Preserved moss doesn’t need light or water and can live for months to years. I was so happy to see a NEW! moss bowl recently added to Kirklands collection for the new year. However, if you’re interested in a more cost friendly option, our friends at the fancy hardware store have beautiful dried natural moss available from their current catalog that is a hard twin for the real stuff.
Lastly, I was able to hop by our local Stacy’s Nursery for the perfect succulent bowl and pair it with this wonderful DIY video to help me with this moody moss bowl I installed as an entryway centerpiece for the re-design of New London Real Estate. You don’t need a green thumb to be a success with this one friends, give it a go. Happy potting!
